Keeping Austin Weird

Hey friends!

The life adventures of Meag continue with a weekend trip to Austin, Texas

Me and four friends/roommates jumped in the car and roadtripped to Austin on Friday to see one of our favorite bands, Johnnyswim; then explore the city on Saturday.

Johnnyswim is a beautiful husband and wife duo that sings singer/songwriter/folk music. They are such talented musicians with so much love for each other it's contagious. They are funny and sound perfect live, so I highly recommend giving them a listen!

BRUNCH.

On Saturday, we got up and ate brunch at this little restaurant downtown called Stella's. I had their chorizo and potato breakfast tacos, and it was SO yummy.

SOUTH CONGRESS.

Next we drove to South Congress Avenue to walk in and out of the shops. The weather was so beautiful this weekend... much chillier than usual, but warm in the sunshine.

GRAFFITI PARK.

Next we went to the infamous graffiti park, and it was soooo much fun! We just walked around and took pictures, but it was so cool to see those actually creating spray paint art. Any form of art/creativity/self-expression, I'm about it!!!

MOZART'S.

Next we went to this cute local coffee shop with an outdoor deck right on the lake. Coffee shops (not coffee) are totally my love language. I could spend hours and hours in a coffee shop, and I'm always looking for inspiration for my own future endeavors.

UT.

Our final adventure spot was the University of Texas. We walked around the campus for a while and made fools of ourselves trying to get a photo of us clicking our heels together because it was the only way to express how this trip made us feel!!! But anyways, I love LSU; but it was fun pretending the glorious architecture of the campus buildings belonged to us as UT students for a day.

After UT, we ate dinner at this delicious little Italian restaurant called Mandola's, then called it a night. Sunday we went to church at Austin Stone, then headed back to good ole LA. We had such a full trip; and I hope everyone has friends like these four that will drive with the windows down and hug you tight and make you laugh till your stomach aches and basically live your best life with. I am so thankful for this special season of life with these special friends. Much love.
